Jeffrey Mailander

May 30, 1957 ~ March 29, 2018 (age 60)

Jeffrey King Mailander died quietly on Friday, March 23 in his home of unknown causes.  Jeffer, as he was known to his family, was an avid and lifelong fan of Cincinnati sports, a talented musician, a gifted writer and a true gentleman.  Jeff lived life on his own terms and was happiest when he was watching the Buckeyes beat the Wolverines or the Bearcats beat the Wildcats. He also enjoyed the occasional quiet conversation with friends and family.

Jeff grew up in Kings Mills, Ohio and spent his summers in western Michigan.  He attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music studying guitar before moving to South Haven, Michigan to work as a bartender and a landscaper/arborist for a nursery.  He returned to the Cincinnati area in the 1990s to care for his parents.

Jeff is survived by his brother John Mailander (Joan), nephews Peter and Joey Mailander; his sister Jody Borchert, nephews Chad Borchert (Tamara Jestice), grandniece Lily, Nicholas (Marta Marine) and grandniece Edie Rose Borchert, and sister Jennifer Mailander (Jerry Foust).  Jeff was not one to share his age, so let’s simply say that he died much too soon and that he will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Association of Warren County (www.homelesspets.org) or the Al-Van Humane Society (www.al-van.org).

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at Putter’s Sports Grill – Maineville, 6040 OH-48, Maineville, OH 45039 from 1:00 – 3:00 Saturday, April 7, 2018.
