Amy Louise Schroll (59), born October 20, 1962, passed away peacefully in her home on February 2, 2022, in Mason, Ohio.
The family of Amy will be receiving friends for a visitation at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home (400 Reading Rd., Mason, OH 45040) on Thursday, February 10 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. We take comfort in knowing her remains will lie with her father, Jerry, at Rose Hill Cemetery (171 Mason Montgomery Rd., Mason, OH 45040).
Amy was born in Cincinnati, OH to Kay (Mathis) and Frederick “Jerry” Kitchell. She married Ken Schroll in April of 1987 and welcomed their daughter Robin later that year. Amy was a lady of many talents and even more friends. She experienced the joys of home and found deep connections all over the country (Indianapolis, IN, Coos Bay, OR, Cambridge, WI, and Mason, OH) and gathered people like flowers in her bouquet, welcoming them into her heart of gold. Amy lived life to its fullest. If the sun was out, Amy was in it, drink in hand. She loved a game with a friend and frequently showed us all how to win at Scrabble. She spent time extending her heart to animals, adopting and fostering many pets. Amy found so much joy and pride being “Mimi” to her grandson, Lincoln. She was her family’s biggest cheerleader and fiercest defender. She battled two cancer diagnoses over the last 12 years and beat them both. She was a warrior until the end.
Amy is preceded in death by her father Frederick “Jerry” Kitchell.
Amy is survived by her daughter Robin (Nick) Wahle, grandson Lincoln Wahle, former husband Ken Schroll, mother Kay Johnson, step mother Karen Kitchell, siblings James (Kerrie) Kitchell, Ann (Gary) Judd, Patricia Kitchell, and Kevin (Angie) Kitchell; nieces/nephews Amanda Holtman, Kelly (Dustin) Miller, Brittany White, Jessica Kitchell, Bill Boyd, and Dana Boyd; grandnephews Jayden Keaton and Theodore Karvounis; and sisters of her heart Chris (David) Schulze and Tara (Bill) Boyd.
