Beneva Sroufe

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Beneva Sroufe, a cherished member of the West Chester, Ohio community, who departed this world unexpectedly on December 20, 2025.

Beneva was a devoted mother to her beloved stepchildren, Sarah Godwin, Thomas Wolfer, and Troy Wolfer. She held a special place in the hearts of her brothers Jim, Dennis, and Mike Barnes, as well as her dear sisters-in-law, Joan, Phylis, and Shirley. Her legacy also lives on through the many nieces and nephews who were fortunate enough to experience her warmth and love.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Tom, and family members who celebrated her life, including siblings Bennie (Joan), Ronnie (Valerie), Wayne, Kathy, Pearl, Tammy (Mike), Jeff, and Hershal. Each of these relationships was a testament to the love that defined Beneva’s existence.

A true enthusiast of nature, Beneva found immense joy in nurturing her garden, cultivating a vibrant tapestry of flowers that adorned her surroundings. With every bloom, she not only beautified her environment but also brought joy to all who were fortunate enough to witness her remarkable handiwork. Beneva's soul was equally nourished by her adventures, particularly her cherished trips to Puerto Rico, where she reveled in the sun-kissed beaches and the breathtaking landscapes.

Beneva's spirit was one of joy; she embraced everyone she met with an open heart and friendly smile, leaving no room for strangers. The bonds she nurtured with family and friends were the essence of her being, and it was within these connections that her love flourished.
