Betty Jean Overbey

Betty Jean Overbey, a resident  from Hamilton,Ohio, departed this life on October 8, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family.

Betty was a devoted wife to her loving husband James Howard Overbey Sr., and mother whose nurturing spirit embraced her children: Jim (David King) Overbey, Jodie (John) McCutchen, Jamie (Mat) Jackson, and Joy (Ron Chapman) Smith. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, Casey, Justin, Ashley, Courtney, Jesse, James, Logan, Austin, Madeline, Vincent and her treasured great-grandchildren, Zayn, Aizik, Sophia, Michael, Jacob, Eliana, Ignacia, Brenda, Jesse James, Wayne, Thomas, and Jamie. Betty was a loving sister to her brother Darrell (Pam) Wright and sister-in-law Lois Wright.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, James Wright, Ronald Wright, and Terry Wright.

Throughout her life, Betty exemplified selflessness and compassion as a dedicated nurse’s aide, pouring her heart into caring for others—a vocation that required immense love and dedication, qualities that resonated in all her endeavors.

An ardent fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Betty delighted in watching her team, enjoying the game from her living room. Her other joys included indulging in classic western films and keeping abreast of the news through her favorite channel, CNN.

At the heart of Betty’s life was her unwavering faith in Jesus, a guiding light that shaped her actions and deepened her love for family—the cornerstone of her existence. The cherished memories, heartfelt stories, and enjoyed vibrant autumn season filled with sunflowers and the playful cardinals, brought profound joy to her life.

Betty leaves behind an enduring legacy of faith, love, and family, all of which will be dearly missed by those fortunate enough to have known her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Paws Adoption Center, located at 6302 Crossings Blvd, Mason, OH 45040, in honor of her compassionate spirit.
