Claude "Jack" Howell

February 11, 1942 — October 9, 2018

Claude “Jack” Howell, born February 11, 1942, unexpectedly passed October 9, 2018.

Loving husband of 19 years of Cleo Stivers Howell, cherished father of Jacqueline Renee (Jerry) Kilps, Jeffrey Dean (Julie) Howell, and stepfather of Keith (Elizabeth) Gregory, dear brother of James Ross (Priscilla) Howell, Verna Margaret Howell, Barry Lynn Howell, and the late Jerry Lee Howell, and beloved grandfather of Jonah Owen Howell, Ava Ruby Renee Howell, Adriana Gregory, Gavin Gregory, and Mallory Gregory.

Jack served his country as a member of the US Army and is a Vietnam veteran.

He worked at Metro for many years, where he did everything from mechanical repairs, body work, painting, and machining, to silk screening and upholstery.  He was a very hard working and innovative employee. If a part wasn't available, or a job was difficult and time consuming, he would often design and create a part, or a custom tool to make the job easier.

Jack was fun loving and adventurous, with a great appreciation of nature and the outdoors. HIs interests were many and ranged from photography, hummingbirds, and woodworking, to motorcycles, rappelling, and flying. He was especially fond of four wheeling, and his favorite spot to do so was Moab Utah. Science was another of his passions. Always studying, inventing, and creating. He could fix most anything. A true Jack of all trades.

A dedicated family man and friend, he was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a gentle lamb with a heart of gold.

The family will be receiving friends for a visitation from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM with a memorial service to follow beginning at 7:00 PM.
