Edward Henry Hughes, Jr., born May 13, 1934, passed away January 12, 2017. Survived by loving wife of 62 years Clarice Hughes (nee Sutphin), dear children Edward Hughes III, Kimberley (Richard) Pawlak, Richard (Trish) Hughes and Steven Hughes, cherished grandchildren Richard Pawlak III, Tyler Hughes, Ryan Hughes, Joseph Pawlak, Natalie Hughes, Madelyn Hughes, Alexander Hughes, Jack Hughes, many nieces and nephews, and dear sister Jane Barker of Wilmington, Delaware. Edward served in the National Guard for 10 years. He was a man of faith and his family and his job was his passion. Edward worked for Continental Can (Crown, Cork, and Seal) for 35 years. The family of Edward will be receiving friends for a celebration of life ceremony at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home (400 Reading Road, Mason, OH 45040) on Thursday, January 19, 2017, beginning at 10:00 AM. A gathering of fellowship will take place after the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edward's honor to The Haven House (550 High St, Hamilton, OH 45011).
