Ernest served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army and his community as a barber. He passed away on the evening of October 15, 2014, at age 83, at Hospice of Hamilton, surrounded by his family. Ernie's love for his family was shown in every aspect of his life. He was most proud of his grandchildren. As a sports enthusiast, baseball was his first love. He was lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds and he enjoyed coaching baseball as well as following his son and grandsons baseball teams in Fairfield and Fairfield High School. Ernie began a second career at the Fairfield YMCA after retiring from his barber shop. He lovingly greeted members each morning with a smile and a cup of coffee. He loved his "Y" family and upon his retirement from the "Y" he volunteered a couple mornings each week. Family will receive friends from 3:00PM-6:00PM at West Chester Presbyterian Church, 8930 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, West Chester, Ohio 45069 on Sunday, October 19, 2014.
