BOIANO, JOSEPH

Passed away June 1st, 2017 at age 67 from a rare form of a prion disease called Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). Loving spouse of Brigitte. Loving father of Kristina and Katherine Boiano, and loving stepfather of Eleanor and Paul (d.2003) Redd.  Loving Opa to Reagan and Colin McCurley. Joe leaves mother Rose, sister Roseann (Gary Askren), and brothers Jim (Wanda) and Anthony (Joan), mother-in-law Edith Scheirer, sister-in-law Rosita Dobbins and brother-in-law Heinz Pradac’.  He was preceded in death by his father John (d.2009). Joe will be dearly missed. He was a graduate of Moeller High School class of 1968. He received two degrees from the University of Cincinnati. He retired from the Kroger Company (UFCW Local 1099) in 2009 after 40 years.  Joe loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and all makes and models of automobiles.  He leaves behind many former co-workers, friends, and family.  He and his wife loved to travel and they visited many cities in the U.S. and Europe.  The family thanks Mercy Health Partners, Superior Care Plus, Stay Well at Home, West Chester Hospital, Chesterwood Village Rehab, Riverhills Neuroscience, Hospice of Cincinnati, and the CJD Foundation/Case Western University Hospital for assisting with many months of care and compassion. Donations may be made in Joe’s name to the CJD Foundation on the website of www.cjdfoundation.org.   Visitation with family is 11:30-1p, memorial service at 1p and burial to follow on Monday June 12th at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home, 400 Reading Road in Mason, Ohio.  Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, 171 S. Mason-Montgomery Road in Deerfield Township/Warren County.
