Katherine "Kathy" Jane Vest

Katherine Jane “Kathy” Vest of Mason, Ohio, passed away on June 18, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Edgar Vest Jr. and is survived by her mother, Loretta Klaas. Kathy is also survived by her brother Eddie Vest and his wife Tracey, as well as her son Brohman Vest. She is proceeded in death also by her stepfather Donald Klass.

Kathy shared a close bond with her extended family and maintained friendships that lasted throughout her life. She was known for her independence and her straightforwardness, with the ability to make others feel welcome.

Over the years, Kathy worked in several roles that connected her with people from all walks of life. She spent time as a bus driver and later as a limo driver. She was also a former small business owner, taking pride in building something of her own. Kathy also had a green thumb and could make just about anything grow.

She enjoyed spending time with the Knights and many friends at the Loveland Castle where she was a Lady. She was a member of The Church of Christ for many years.

Kathy loved music, especially live music, and supporting her brother’s bands. She rarely passed up a chance to dance. Those who knew her can easily picture her smiling, moving to the rhythm, and enjoying the moment.

Her favorite place in the world was the Cayman Islands, a destination she returned to often and delighted in sharing with family and friends. Those trips created some of her happiest memories.

Though private by nature, Kathy cared deeply for the people in her life. Her presence, her loyalty, and her unique spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

Her family and friends will carry forward the memories they shared with her, each holding onto the parts of Kathy that touched their lives.
