Larry Grigsby

November 21, 1941 — May 6, 2023

Larry Grigsby, born November 21, 1941, in Kentucky to late Jack and Christine Grigsby, passed away surrounded by loved ones on May 6, 2023.  Loving husband of 62 years, together for 65 years,  to his High School sweetheart Delores Grigsby (nee Smith), cherished father of first born son Daniel Jack Grigsby and daughter in love Cherise Marie Grigsby, and second born son Christopher Michael Grigsby and daughter in love Nicole Marie Grigsby, adored pappy of Christopher Kaleb Grigsby, Zoe Danielle Grigsby Abbott (grandson in love Jeff Abbott), Lillian Addie Michelle Roark, Jada Elizabeth Grigsby, William Carter Grigsby, Cherise Nicole Gruber, Marti Alexandra Gruber Cook (grandson in love Tyler Cook), and revered Pappy of numerous children across many states and Native American Reservation who have adopted Larry as their Pappy, dear brother of James “Jim” (Shirley Woodward) Grigsby, Carolyn Sue Grigsby Wainscott, Shirley Grigsby Howard, Jackie Lynne Grigsby Monds (who made her trip to Heaven in December 2021), cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews, Jeff Wainscott, Kimberly Wainscott Moore, Donna Wainscott, Melinda Wainscott, Cathy Dwyer Howard, Keith Howard, Debbie Howard Meadows, Connie Lynn Monds, Gary Lee Monds, Michelle Lynette Monds, Bobby Grigsby, Patty Grigsby (in Heaven) baby nephew in Heaven Larry Wainscott (named after his uncle Larry),  and he is survived by many grand and great grand nieces and nephews, a large extended family and many dear friends. 

 

Larry was a man of all trades.  He proudly attended all the classes offered at the General Motors training center, and went on to attend the University of Cincinnati, Wilmington College, and Cincinnati State College.  Larry also utilized what he learned at university and was able to teach classes in Real Estate, Real Estate Law, Math, and obtain his insurance license.  He would build race cars and race car engines just for others and himself to have fun with and enjoy.  He was a service manager and body shop manager at several Cincinnati car dealerships. 

 

Larry and Delores owned and operated a custom imprinting business.  They traveled across the United States in a motorhome and trailer to many Pow Wows, Native American Reservations, and Convention Center Shows.  They designed and printed shirts, jackets, hats, and turquoise / silver hand beaded jewelry. 

 

 

The family of Larry will be receiving friends for a visitation at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home – 400 Reading Road, Mason, OH 45040 on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM.  A funeral service will follow beginning at 2:00 PM.  Donations may be made in honor and memory of Larry to Hospice of Cincinnati – Blue Ash.
