Mary Ellen (Runyan) Spaeth

Mary Ellen of Mason. Beloved wife of 68 years to Leslie J. Spaeth passed away Monday, December 28, 2015 at age 90. Loving mother to Jim (Linda) Spaeth, Nancy (Craig) Hoon and John (Barbara) Spaeth, all of Mason. Devoted grandmother of Ali Spaeth, Lesley Spaeth, Michael (Bethany) Hoon, Rebecca (Chris) Weingand, Daniel (Amber) Spaeth, Brittany Spaeth, and Tori Berry. Great-grandmother of Caleb Weingand. Dear sister of Paul Runyan and sister-in-law of Ralph Spaeth, Mary Jane Spaeth and Billie Runyan. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Vena (Davis) Runyan, sisters Frances Spaeth and Martha Pierce, brother Dale Runyan and grandson Johnny Hoon.

Ellen served her church Heritage Presbyterian, as a Deacon and Elder and truly had a servant's heart. She as a former Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star and a charter member of the Mason Volunteer Fire Auxiliary. Active in Warren County Republican politics for many years alongside her husband, Les, she was a recipient of the Earl J. Maag Award and former President of the Warren County Republican Women's Club.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating Ellen's wonderful life at Heritage Presbyterian Church, 6546 S. Mason Montgomery Road, Mason, OH 45040 Friday, January 15, 2016 at 7:00 PM. Friends will be received in the church's Fireside Room at 5:00 pm until the hour of service. Graveside services will be at the convenience of the family.
