It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melody Ann Hubley on August 5, 2024.
Melody was born in Harveysburg, Ohio to the late James Thornbury and Wilma Warman. She graduated from Middletown High School in 1969. After graduating from Miami University in 1972 with a degree in education, she taught at Colerain High School and later at Mason High School. She retired after 36 years of teaching.
Melody's life was a tapestry woven with a myriad of cherished hobbies, yet amongst them all, her greatest joy resided in her family. A maestro in the kitchen, she delighted in crafting delectable dishes and sharing them with loved ones, infusing each creation with a generous sprinkle of love.
An avid walker, Melody traversed the world around her, taking in nature's beauty with each step. Her appreciation for the simple things in life was evident as she paused to inhale the sweet fragrance of flowers and revel in the wonders of her surroundings.
Through her many travels and adventures, Melody not only savored new experiences but also spread warmth and kindness wherever she went. Her infectious smile and endearing personality left an indelible mark on all those fortunate enough to cross paths with her.
Melody Ann Hubley leaves behind a legacy of love and light. She was the beloved wife of Roger Hubley for 51 years, the devoted mother of Susan Kneidl (Josh), Amy Stover (Stephen), and Jill Chupka (Lucas), and the cherished grandmother of Logan, Jace, Makayla, Raegan, Brooke, Landen, sister Pam Wehby (Dennis), and very dear friend Cyndi Tawney. She now rests in peace alongside her siblings Tom Thornbury, Tim Thornbury, and Bonnie Richey, having been reunited with them in eternity.
While our hearts ache at the loss of Melody's physical presence, we take solace in knowing that her beautiful soul will forever dwell within us. In her favorite words: "Just When the Caterpillar thought her world was over she became a beautiful butterfly."
May Melody's spirit soar among the heavens as we hold dear memories of her love and kindness close to our hearts.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to Hospice or The American Red Cross.
