Michael "Mike" Charles Dann, aged 81, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, in Mason, Ohio, with is loving family by his side.
Born in Bristol, England, on October 1, 1944, to Ted and Elsie Dann, Mike was a man of remarkable talent and warmth. He grew up alongside his siblings, Ted and Margaret, and later graduated from The University of Bristol with a degree in mechanical engineering. His early career at Rolls Royce laid the foundation for a lifetime of engineering excellence. In 1979, Mike moved his family to America to join GE's aeronautics division. Over his distinguished tenure, he became a highly respected Designated Engineering Representative (DER) to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for GE, leaving a lasting mark on the industry.
Beyond his professional life, Mike was a man of diverse passions. In his youth, he played semi-professional football (soccer) in England and remained a devoted fan of the sport throughout his life, closely following England's national team. Liverpool, and his hometown club, Bristol City. He was equally at home on the golf course, whether playing or watching. An avid traveler, Mike also found joy in the simple pleasures of life -playing cards, games, and engaging in spirited pub sports.
Mike was preceded in death by his beloved first wife Pauline, and his loyal canine companion, Jake. He is survived by his wife, Janet, her two sons Jon and Ben (Amy) Nutley and 5 grandchildren; his children, Simon Dann and Alison (Christopher) Heller; and his cherished grandchildren, Madison and Johnathan Heller. Mike's quick wit, engineering mind, and steady presence will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
A Remembrance of Life Memorial will be held from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at The Eagle View Clubhouse located at 6405 Eagle View Dr. Mason, OH 45040 on January 18, 2026.
