Nancy Margaret Casner, a cherished resident of Westerville, Ohio, departed this life on August 17, 2025. Her presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A devoted member of the P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) for 75 years, Nancy exemplified dedication and service. She held numerous offices within her local chapter, including three terms as president and five years as treasurer, showcasing her commitment to the organization and its mission. Her contributions extended beyond her chapter to the statewide committee and as a co-chair for the Ohio state convention. Revered as the “beloved sage” of her chapter, Nancy was a beacon of wisdom, sharing her extensive knowledge of P.E.O. history and protocols, and she was always sought after for her insights.
Nancy's love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. She was a nurturing mother to Mary Elizabeth Knepper of Syracuse NY, and E. Alan Knepper, and sister to Thomas L. Terrall. Her family is forever enriched by the love and guidance she provided, and they will carry forth her legacy, cherishing the memories she created.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John R. Casner, with whom she shared a profound and lasting bond. She enjoyed traveling with him to many places in the U.S. and Europe where they made some lasting relationships.
An artist at heart, Nancy was meticulous and passionate about her needlepoint projects, dedicating countless hours to crafting beautiful creations that graced the homes of family and friends. In addition to her artistic pursuits, she was an avid reader who found joy and adventure in the pages of her books, often losing herself in stories that transported her to different worlds.
Nancy loved music, especially classical, and enjoyed attending concerts. For many years, she was an active member of the Sycamore Presbyterian Church in Mason, where she played in the handbell choir. She also volunteered in the Griefshare program as well as in the church office.
As we celebrate the life of Nancy Margaret Casner, we reflect on the depth of her character, her unwavering kindness, and her enduring love for family and friends. Her spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all she touched, inspiring future generations to nurture their passions and embrace the joy of learning and creation.
