Philip Hegner, WWII Navy Veteran, born September 13, 1923, passed away July 22, 2016. Loving husband of 68 years to the late Betty Mae Hegner (Nee Schoppelrei), beloved father to children Ted Hegner, Linda (Grady) Gilkison, and Phyllis Hegner, cherished grandfather to Lexis Kelley, A.J. Kelley, Jenna Kelley, and dear great-grandfather to Luca Bothe. Preceded in death by beloved parents William and Alma Hegner. Phil and Betty were owners of their own plumbing business, serving the Mason community for 68 years. Phil also loved to travel, go fishing, play golf, and go boating on Lake Erie with his family. He also was a great bowler and enjoyed playing cards, especially poker. The family of Phil will be receiving friends for a visitation at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home-Mason (400 Reading Road, Mason, OH 45040) on Friday, July 29, 2016, from 11:00 AM - 12 Noon, with a funeral service to follow beginning at 12 Noon.
