Robert Austerman, born June 10, 1929, in Cincinnati, passed away January 14, 2017. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Marie Austerman (nee Debord), dear children Carolyn (Mike) Zindel, Julie Spitzmiller, and Robert (Debbie) Austerman Jr., cherished grandchildren Troy Spitzmiller, Ian Spitzmiller, Lindsay (Jeff) Busch, Shannon (Vernon) Sellers, and beloved great-grandchildren Parker Spitzmiller, Abby Busch, Ryan Busch, Grace Horn, and Carter Sellers. He is preceded in death by parents Bernard and Mae Austerman and brother Louis Austerman. Robert was City Councilman of Mason, where he started the peewee football league. He had a love for painting, traveling with his wife, but golf was his passion. The family of Robert will be receiving friends for a visitation at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home-Mason (400 Reading Road, Mason, OH 45040) on Friday, January 20th, 2017, from 12 Noon - 1:oo PM, with a funeral service to follow beginning at 1:00 PM.
