Jack Booth

December 18, 1975 — January 19, 2021

Jack Rollin Booth, 45, of Mason, OH, died peacefully in his home on January 19th.   He was born on December 18, 1975 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH.  He was the youngest son of Charles and Cindy Booth.  Jack was a special man and loved by all.  At 18 months of age, Jack was diagnosed with a mental disability, with autistic tendencies.  He didn’t speak until the age of four, but he was strong and determined, and he taught himself to read immediately thereafter. Jack had an excellent memory.  He loved to read and memorize the phone book.  He also taught himself to add, subtract, multiply and divide large numbers in his head very quickly. His intellect was impressive!  His hard work earned him the “student of the month” for four consecutive months at Canton City schools.

Jack loved sports. He was active in Special Olympics as a child, and he continued to play basketball on Warren County MRDD leagues as an adult.  He earned the nickname Shaq Attack.

Jack loved playing video games, and his favorite TV shows were Jeopardy, People’s court, and Wheel of Fortune.

Jack’s father, Charles, passed away when he was a teenager.  Jack held a special place in his father’s heart, and he was the apple of his father’s eye.

After graduating from Lebanon High School in 1998, Jack got a job doing piece work and he moved into a group home.  He had many good friends to hang out with whenever he wanted. He was well taken care of by the loving and kind staff at Community Concepts Inc.  We are forever grateful for all the support they provided to Jack.

Jack is preceded in death by his father, Charles Booth and 3 brothers: Stephan Booth, Gerald Booth and Charles Fulton Booth.  He is survived by his mother Cindy Booth of Mason, OH, and four siblings, John Booth of Alliance, OH; Mary Hill of Texas; Kim (Frank) Williams of Mason, OH; and Bryan (Conchita) Heath of Clarksville, OH; 21 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews.

Jack was a special person, and he was put on this earth to teach us humility, how to love unconditionally and to live our life one day at a time.
