June Hasselbring

June 8, 1925 — July 10, 2020

Heaven gained a Gentlewoman with the arrival of June Ruth Hasselbring of Blue Ash, Ohio.  She was born to Arthur Edwin and Lydia Pergande Hoffman on June 8, 1925 and grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  At the age of 18, her cheerful personality and beautiful spirit caught the eye of Navy Radioman 1st Class Officer Jack Hasselbring at a Great Lakes USO part.  June attended Milwaukee Downer Women's College and when Jack returned from his PT boat, they married on June 8, 1946, and lived in Milwaukee until Jack was accepted to Purdue University and off they went on their grand adventure in life.  June was an elegant partner to Jack and epitomized the truest essence of being a stay at home mom, entertaining clients/friends on the weekends, hosting weekly bridge club, enjoying Rolling Hills Country Club, and volunteering in the communities they moved to including Lafayette, Des Moines, Wichita, Mason, and finally Blue Ash, Ohio.  As a multi-talented volunteer, she served honorably and faithfully in many positions including Heart Association Chairman, PTA, Home Room Mother, Girl Scouts Chairman, and on committees and boards for the Cincinnati Symphony Club.  All her life she was a tour de force and lit up any room with her abundant energy and beautiful smile.

She is remembered for her love of dogs, having been raised with Grand Champion Chows, playing the piano while Jack sang along to hits like Moon River, traveling the world, creating amazing meals like her signature fondue dinner, sewing, knitting, baking, cooking, reading, creating Barbie clothes for her daughter and never knowing a stranger.  June could talk to anyone and make a new friend.  Loving, generous, supportive, and fun, June had a knack for sales and could literally sell ice to an Eskimo.

June is survived by her only beloved daughter Bonnie June (Hasselbring) Bernard and devoted grandson Peter Plamenov Bernard, son Scott A. Hasselbring (Paula), and their children and grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by husband Jack on June 15, 1985.

Bonnie honors her mother in life and in death, and credits June for her life affirming motto: "There, but for the Grace of God, go I."  She was the best possible mother a daughter could ask for, and a the hole in Bonnie's heart can never be filled.  May the angels welcome my loving mother into heaven on a special silver cloud.  And save a place right next to you for me, Mom.  A memorial will be placed and donations may be sent to Aactev8 International
