Air Force Captain -

Launa Sue (Thompson) Peavley born March 16, 1951, passed away December 30. 2020. Launa was preceded in death by husband Robert and her parents Joann and Harold Thompson. She was born in Tipp City and attended Bethel High School.

She is survived by her two sisters, Sandy (Thompson) and Brad Lane, Marla (Thompson) and Larry Leisure, her three step children Amanda, Micah (Tracey), and Joseph, three grandchildren Andrea Siry, Harper and Steele Peavley, and two great grandchildren Gabe and Liam.

After graduating high school, Launa graduated from nursing school in Dayton, Ohio. She served in the United States Air Force from 1975 to 1978, where she was promoted to a Captain. After serving, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and worked at Good Samaritan Hospital for 25 years as a psychiatric nurse.

She met the love of her life, Butch Peavley and married him in 1984 and quickly became a loving wife and stepmother to their three children. She enjoyed lighthouses, traveling to her favorite place, Niagara Falls, and supported and loved the CIncinnati Zoo.

Launa was known for her kind and loving nature. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation for friends and family will be held at Shorten and Ryan Funeral Home from 10:00-12:00 followed by a service and burial on Tuesday, January 5, 2020.
